Run in the Country 1/2 Marathon

Yesterday on my birthday I participated in my second 1/2 Marthon, this one with my nephew (13) and some other friends. Previously my first was the Eugene Marathon in April. I also got to test out the new sustainable refillable single shot flask for liquid gold. We are prototyping it and also an arm band that will hold the single shots while you run. LG definitely helped prevent the crash in miles 7 through 10.

Liquid Gold at the 2010 Eugene Marathon!

We're thrilled to share that we are the official gel sponsor for the 2010 Eugene Marathon! We'll be handing out Liquid Gold at aid stations along the race route to refuel runners. It seems very fitting that a natural energy gel made right here in Eugene will be the official gel of our hometown marathon. See you at the race!

Liquid Gold is the Official Gel Sponsor of the 2008 Portland Marathon!

We are just amazed. After a great event at the Olympic Trials, we felt satisfied with our roll out and looking forward to 2009. That was until the folks at the Portland Marathon asked if we'd be interested in providing race fuel at aid stations. We were amazed, and especially so since we are the only gel they wanted there. We're at the "Sports Authority Sports & Fitness Expo" Friday and Saturday at the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower (921 SW 6th Ave.), and on the course for Sunday. We'll have two aid stations: NW Raleigh at mile 11.5, and just as you cross the St.

Honey at the Olympic Games

Check out this info from one of the Honey industry newsletters:

Honey was used in a unique way at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

Some gymnasts were spotted with honey bears on the gym floor prior to their routines. The gymnasts were reportedly using the honey on their fingertips to provide a better grip in "hanging" events, such as the parallel bars and the rings.

I wonder if the electrolyte content of Liquid Gold would have helped?

Liquid Gold is in the news!

What better way to finish our launch at the Olympic Trials than a great artcile from our local paper?  Sheri MacDonald has written some great articles about GloryBee in the past, and was super excited about the launch of Liquid Gold at the biggest sporting event Eugene has seen in over 20 years.  You can check out the arcticle here.  It was a great story, and it seemed everyone who came by had read it.  Pretty nice to have all our traffic understanding the

Pacific Crest Weekend 2008

On Thursday evening my wife (Kelly), and two boys (John and Eli) piled in the volvo wagon and headed for sunriver for what has become our annual trek to Pacific Crest Weekend http://www.racecenter.com/pacificcrest/. This year we met up with Kevin and Kelley Menard great friends who operate transition bikes. It was fun to see them and show Kevin how Liquid Gold has come to life since he was one of the product originators.

Liquid Gold is ready at Eugene 08

Eugene 08 Booth

Here in Eugene, track and field is a big deal.  This summer we are hosting the Olympic Track and Field Trials for the first time in 28 years.  To locals it goes without saying that we take huge pride in this event and it's going to be huge.

The Liquid Gold Story

Liquid Gold is founded on the honey history of GloryBee Foods. GloryBee started in the family garage of Dick and Pat Turanski in 1975. Dick was an avid beekeeper and Pat an avid baker. Their passions led to GloryBee becoming the preferred natural ingredient partner in the Pacific Northwest. GloryBee grew to provide not only honey, molasses and other natural ingredients, but HoneyStix, Aunt Patty's Trail Mix, and other natural snacks.
